Langtang Trek

Not lacking in scenery, this guided trek through the Langtang Valley is within easy reach of Kathmandu and supports the local people as they rebuild their lives after the 2015 earthquake. Starting from the small village of Syabru Besi, climb your way through oak, maple, pine, and rhododendron forests towards the high alpine meadows and yak pastures near Kyangjin Gompa—a Tibetan Buddhist monastery. From here, take an optional hike to the top of Kyangjin Ri for 360-degree views of the Langtang Himal mountain range before you retrace your route and return to Kathmandu (a helicopter ride from Kyangjin is also possible.
